Rezoning Request RZN2022-007 (Conditional), Ellis Farm, submitted by Manning Road Development Group, LLC, on behalf of Coastal Virginia Partners, LLC is asking the City of Suffolk to rezone the property known as Ellis Farm, on Manning Road from Agricultural (A) to Residential Low-Medium Density (RLM). The developer would like to build up to 300 houses on roughly 114 acres of land adjacent to the Speight’s Run Reservoir.
CARE4Suffolk, is a community group that has formed to oppose this rezoning. Members of CARE4Suffolk have many reasons for opposing this rezoning, including: traffic, school impacts, environmental concerns, quality of life, property values, and the direct impact this large development will have on the lives of those that reside on Manning Road and the surrounding communities.
