CARE4Suffolk is participating in the city’s Great Suffolk Cleanup on Saturday, March 25, from 8am-12pm. The location we will be cleaning up is 440 Market St. We will be picking up trash on the baseball field and cemetery behind the Registrar’s Office where the voter registrar office is. There is plenty of parking in back and on the sides.

The city is sponsoring this event by providing the cleanup equipment and safety gear. They will pick the trash bags up as well when we have finished.  We need to know how many people are interested so they know how much equipment to provide us, so please email us at care4suffolk@gmail.com to let us know.

This is a great way for us to serve our community, so please consider joining us to help keep Suffolk beautiful!

Amendment to Restrict “Thru” Truck Traffic https://care4suffolk.org/2022/12/08/amendment-to-restrict-thru-truck-traffic/ https://care4suffolk.org/2022/12/08/amendment-to-restrict-thru-truck-traffic/#respond Thu, 08 Dec 2022 15:18:14 +0000 https://care4suffolk.org/?p=1784 Read More »Amendment to Restrict “Thru” Truck Traffic]]>

WE did it! Thanks to everyone for your support! City Council approved an amendment to restrict “thru” truck traffic (tractor trailers/container trucks/big stuff) from Suffolk Meadows Blvd., Baron Blvd, Dutchess Way and Shoulders Hill Road (Bridge Road to Pughsville Road).

Tim Johnson spoke up about the need for better enforcement in and around RT 58 and was very clear in what his expectations were in enforcing these same regulations around Manning Road, Indian Trail Road, Pitchkettle Road, and all others.

They all agreed that ENFORCEMENT was very important to making this work and are committed to doing just that.

Various Council members and the Mayor requested that the City Manager investigate increasing the fines of trucks who break the rules.

It was a great meeting and a great win for Care4Suffolk and the Citizens of Suffolk!
